Asia is viewed as the largest and most significant emerging market in the world – whether the discussion is focused on production of consumer goods or financial capital. The same applies too, in the world of science, and in particular, the field of cancer research. Today, China and all of Asia are the source of some of the most exciting developments in the world of cancer research.
CONFERENCE OVERVIEW
4th International Think Tank Forum: Anti-Cancer Innovation and Global Collaboration
The 4th International Think Tank Forum provides a unique opportunity for cancer researchers from the United States, Europe, China, and all of Asia to meet with scientific pioneers, biopharmaceutical executives, and venture fund managers to discuss the latest advances in cancer research, and examine ways to accelerate progress against cancer through innovative global collaboration.
This biennial International Think Tank Forum: Anti-Cancer Innovation and Global Collaboration is being presented in conjunction with another major cancer meeting, the 14th Hong Kong International Cancer Congress (HKICC).
The HKICC has established a solid reputation as one of the premier, clinically-focused meetings in Asia dealing with all aspects of cancer care. The meeting attracts participants from throughout the region and provides a showcase for clinical research being conducted under the auspices of the Centre for Cancer Research of The University of Hong Kong, as well as innovative translational and clinical work being done in other leading Asian universities, medical research centers, and by emerging Asian pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
The 4th International Think Tank Forum: Anti-Cancer Innovation and Global Collaboration will be held in Hong Kong from November 14-15, 2007, in the facilities of the Cheung Kung Hai Conference Center at the University of Hong Kong Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine. Conference sessions are structured to encourage interactive dialogue between attendees and our world-class speakers discussing recent advances and promising new directions in cancer research; the challenges currently facing researchers in the basic, translational, and clinical arenas; as well as emerging areas of cancer research that merit a greater investment of time, talent, and funding.
This 4th International Think Tank Forum is not a "mega-meeting." Registration is limited to assure that attendees will enjoy active participation in the discussion of the issues facing cancer researchers today. The comfortable facilities of the University of Hong Kong will encourage a fuller exploration of the possibilities for international research collaboration and business partnerships across borders.
Through a unique collaboration with the Centre for Cancer Research at the University of Hong Kong, attendees at the 4th International Think Tank Forum will be able to participate in the HKICC at no additional cost. The combination of these two important scientific meetings offers registrants the chance to discuss the full scope of cancer research – from the latest developments in basic and translational research to the most exciting advances in clinical applications. Attendees will meet and interact with world-renowned cancer researchers and thought leaders from the academic as well as the pharmaceutical and biotech communities – those who have the inside track on cutting-edge discoveries and new directions in the field. Presentations from participating investors and venture capitalists will introduce registrants to intriguing opportunities for collaboration and partnering in the life sciences currently available in China and throughout the Asian continent.
14th Hong Kong International Cancer Congress
Since 1993, the University of Hong Kong has hosted this premier meeting focusing on the latest developments in clinical cancer research and cancer care. Attendees hear presentations on an array of relevant topics – presenting state-of-the-art thinking and offering new insight into the research and therapeutic pipeline – the newest developments soon to move into the clinic and likely to impact cancer care in Asia and around the globe. The 14th Congress will be held from November 15-16, 2007 in conjunction with the 4th International Think Tank Forum.
